Her Story

Dr. Li-Zandre Philbrook, PT, DPT is the co-founder of Elevate Physical Therapy and has been practicing as a Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2014. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and brings more than a decade of experience helping individuals recover from injury, restore movement, and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Her clinical approach blends evidence-based practice, movement analysis, and individualized care to help patients return to meaningful activity and long-term movement health.

Before becoming a physical therapist, Dr. Philbrook worked in Division I Sports Medicine at Oregon State University, where she supported athletes in football, gymnastics, and baseball. Throughout her career she has worked with athletes across every level of sport — from youth and high school competitors to collegiate Division I and III athletes, elite runners, and international competitors, including athletes who have competed in the Olympic Games and the IAAF World Indoor Championships. She has also served on the medical team supporting events such as the Portland Marathon and has worked sideline coverage for professional teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

In addition to sports medicine, Dr. Philbrook has extensive experience working with individuals recovering from neurologic conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other complex neurologic disorders. She has also practiced within primary care physical therapy settings alongside physicians, helping patients address musculoskeletal pain, chronic conditions, and movement limitations through collaborative, evidence-based care.

Dr. Philbrook is deeply committed to advancing the physical therapy profession through education and mentorship. She serves as adjunct faculty within a Doctor of Physical Therapy program where she teaches future clinicians and has been recognized with the Graduate Professor of the Year Award for excellence in teaching. She has also received a Service Award from the Oregon Physical Therapy Association for her contributions to the profession and the broader clinical community.

She is a published, peer-reviewed author and frequently presents at local and national conferences on topics related to patient care, clinical reasoning, and improving the patient experience. She also provides continuing education opportunities for clinicians and co-hosts the Simply Robust Podcast, where she engages in conversations designed to challenge and elevate clinical practice.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Philbrook is passionate about developing athletes and fostering lifelong movement. She coaches youth track, volunteered with Special Olympics athletes, and enjoys helping individuals of all ages discover what their bodies are capable of achieving.

When she is not working with patients, teaching, or mentoring clinicians, she enjoys spending time with her family as a wife, mom to three daughters, and proud dog mom.
