We had a great workout today, definitely not one of our long ones, but when we were moving it was quick! Thank you to everyone who came out and rucked their keisters off today!
We called this one "The tortoise and the hare". We partnered up and had one person carry an extra 20-40 pounds on top of their ruck (this was the tortoise). The other person (the hare) only had their original ruck on. The tortoises got about an 80 yard head start on nearly a 1/2 mile loop. The object of this ruck was for the "tortoise" to finish the loop before the "hare" and passed them. Whoever finished first avoided a hefty penalty of 10 burpees, 10 jump squats and 10 push ups. We then switched partners and started again for a total of 4 loops. This was a good anaerobic effort, something a lot of ruckers aren't necessarily used to, but very important for conditioning! Here's your summary:
Your choice ruck weight +
Buy in: ruck on
1/2 mile ruck shuffle

Main: Nearly 0.5 mile loops of chase or be chased by your partner. Six unfortunate souls paid the price each lap by incurring the penalty of 10 burpees, 10 jump squats, and 10 pushups. Tortoises carried anywhere from 20-40lbs of extra weight and were covering just over 0.4 miles in the chase.
Cash out: Hang out in the terrible heat. No specific cash out today, some of our overachievers did some hill sprints and/or more penalty reps.
Totals: ~2.5 miles of rucking with about 2 shuffle carries of 20-40 pounds of extra weight depending on the team.
Avg pace 11-14 min miles
Time elapsed: 45 mins
It was awesome to see everyone move so well with extra weight. Rucking is all about embracing the suck andyou guys did that today. Thank you to a great community and please share 99 Ruck Club with friends, family, or anyone you think would be interested, let's keep the good rucks rolling!
