99 Ruck Club Workout - 092025 "Checkpoint" and 092725 "5k time trial"

Hey y'all,

That last 2 weeks have been awesome! I have been slacking on getting summaries posted, so I am going to try and kill 2 birds here...

ruck workout

On 9/20/25 we played "Checkpoint" which is required partners and competitors. In this ruck workout 6 teams of two spread out about 0.1 miles apart over a 0.6 mile loop. Each person had a ruck on and each pair was also responsible for 2 sandbags that only one person could carry at a time. The object was to farmer carry your sandbag weight as far and as fast as you could. If a team caught up to you and passed your team, you would owe 10 jump squats. Your team was also penalized every time you dropped the sandbags, for this you would owe 10 front squats, 5 highpulls, and 5 bicep curls and then the teammate who was not carrying would pick up the bags and go. The only saving grace were two checkpoints that were spaced evenly across the loop. If you reached either of these points without dropping your sandbags you would not owe the penalty.

We ended up competing for about 40 minutes with farmer carry weight between 40 and 80 lbs and each group covering nearly 3 miles! We cashed out with 10 40-yard hill sprints and 10x15 downhill walking lunges. 99 ruck club gave this a 5/10 on the challenge scale.

On 9/27/25 we tested a 5k time trial. Our buy-in was 50 squats and then we got going. Every 99 ruck club member came in under 15 mins per mile which was our ruck club goal! This is a huge improvement from when we started averaging about 17 mins per mile. This is a strong indicator that our club can really get moving or increase ruck weight especially because we finished the 5k on a massive hill! Our cashout was 5 sets of 10 high pull, 10 overhead press and 10 squats99 ruck club gave this workout 8/10 on the challenge scale!

Thank you to all of you, it wouldn't be 99RC without you! Please share 99 Ruck Club with friends, family, or anyone you think would be interested, let's keep the good rucks rolling!
